What is Dihydrotriazine (DHT)?
This is not to be confused with the male androgen Dihydrotestosterone, which is also commonly abbreviated as DHT. When inferior raw materials are used to produce Creatine, DHT is produced as a byproduct during the process. Currently, the pharmaceutical and toxicological properties of Dihydrotriazine are unknown. What is known is that Dihydrotriazine is not naturally occurring in the human body, and structurally similar compounds have exhibited carcinogenic properties.

What is Thiourea
Thiourea is created when inferior raw materials, and an inferior manufacturing process, are used to manufacture Creatine. Currently, it is classified as a possible carcinogen. Because Creapure® is manufactured using the "cyanamide process," a process patented by AlzChem, Thiourea and other harmful derivatives are undetectable in Creapure®.

What is Dicyandiamide (DCD)
Both sarcosinate and cyanamide are used to start the production of Creatine. And, DCD is a derivative of the starting chemical, cyanamide. The presence of DCD in Creatine results when the production of Creatine is either incomplete or inefficient, and the amount of DCD can be quite large in lower quality Creatines.
To date, DCD has not shown any toxicological effects, nor has it shown any mutagenic properties when studied In-vitro. Scientific literature suggests that approximately 1mg/kg of body weight is tolerable. Thanks to the superior manufacturing process of Creapure®, the amount of DCD in Creapure® is less than 30 ppm. This level is considered so low (trace amounts) that it is irrelevant in terms of health.

What is Creatinine
Creatinine is naturally occurring in the human body, and is produced when Creatine is broken down and excreted from the kidneys. If you've ever had blood drawn, you may have noticed that your Creatinine levels were measured. That's because it serves as an important marker for normal kidney function. Therefore, to prevent potential kidney problems, as little Creatinine as possible should be consumed. In addition, the amount of Creatinine present in the starting product must also be as low as possible. The amount of Creatinine in Creapure® is below the analytical limit of detection (less than 67 ppm). Therefore, there is no reason to believe that this insignificant amount will cause disturbances to your health.
